CoopFinPlus is cooperative management software operated by AUSCA. It runs the web dashboard, the member portal and the mobile app that cooperative societies use to manage members, savings, loans, welfare, shares and their store. This policy explains how personal information is handled on the platform.

Who is responsible for your data

  • If you are a member of a cooperative, your records belong to that cooperative: it decides what is collected and why, under its registered bye-laws. CoopFinPlus processes those records on the cooperative's behalf, and requests about your data go first to your cooperative's office.
  • If you hold a platform account, such as a cooperative administrator, staff login or billing contact, AUSCA is responsible for that account information.

What the platform holds

  • Member records entered by you or your cooperative: name, phone, email, address, photograph, member number, identification (KYC) documents, next of kin and guarantor details.
  • Financial records: savings, contributions, loans, repayments, welfare, shares, store purchases and the full transaction history of accounts, kept in a double-entry ledger.
  • Platform accounts: staff and administrator logins, roles, and the audit trail of actions they take.
  • Technical information: device type, app version and security logs of sign-ins and sensitive actions.

How it is used

  • To run each cooperative's operations and keep its books accurate.
  • To verify identity and support know-your-customer checks.
  • To process payments and payouts that members and cooperatives request.
  • To send service messages, such as receipts, approvals and reminders, by SMS, email or in-app notification.
  • To secure the platform, prevent fraud and keep a tamper-evident audit trail.
  • To bill cooperatives for their platform subscription.

Personal information on CoopFinPlus is never sold and never used for third-party advertising.

Who it is shared with

  • Paystack, for online card payments: card details are entered on and processed by Paystack, not stored on CoopFinPlus.
  • Your cooperative's own SMS and email providers, which deliver its messages to you under its own accounts.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers that run the platform, acting only on our instructions.
  • Regulators, auditors and law enforcementwhere the law or a cooperative's registration requires it.

How it is protected

Every cooperative's data is fully isolated from every other cooperative's, enforced at the database level. Connections are encrypted, staff access is role-based, a second person approves money movements, and corrections never overwrite history: the audit trail records who changed what, and what it was before.

How long it is kept

Records are kept while a cooperative uses the platform. Financial and transaction records are retained for the periods Nigerian law and cooperative regulations require, then disposed of securely. When a cooperative leaves the platform its data is exported to it and then deleted on the same basis. To close a personal account, see deleting your account.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you may ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Members should ask their cooperative's office; platform account holders can write to us directly. Either way, you can reach us at hello@auscacoop.com and we will act on the request or route it to the right cooperative. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

Children

The platform is for adults. Information about anyone under 18 appears only where a member names a minor as a beneficiary or next of kin.

Changes

If this policy changes, this page and the date above are updated, and significant changes are announced in the app.
